The woman behind the lens

I grew up in Pennsylvania and have called Boston home for the last twelve years. I moved here without a job lined up and not much more than a strong feeling about what I wanted to do with my life. I taught myself the craft the slow way, reading everything I could find and talking friends and very patient parents into posing for me, and in 2015 I finally opened the studio.

Before that I spent five years as a special education teacher, which turns out to be excellent training for wedding days. I have been photographing full time for six years now. I went to Bates College and have photographed a good number of Bates weddings since, and the dog I grew up with, Tootsie, is the reason there is a whole side of this business devoted to other people's dogs.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, who is also a photographer and my second shooter when I can talk him into it, and our daughter Zoey arrived at the end of 2022. I use far too many exclamation points in my emails, I will almost certainly cry at your wedding, and I will be your friend and your loudest fan long after the gallery lands.
